Betsy and her partner/teacher, Peter Mant, competed for several years at the national level in the Pro/Am (mixed professional/amateur) class. They did very well, placing second and third in several national championship events. Unfortunately, in the fall of 2001, a dance-related neck injury forced Betsy to give up competition dancing. She hopes to resume competing someday.

These photos were taken in May 2001 at the Emerald Ball in Los Angeles, California, where they placed fifth in the five-dance championships (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot & Quickstep).
