ABOUT OUR RESCUED MAINE COONS Very occasionally, we have rescued adult Maine Coons available for adoption as companions; most often, we rescued these cats from impending euthanasia at a local shelter. Each cat's story is different; some were strays, while others were abandoned by their original owners. We are grateful to be able to provide a "happy ending" for these cats whose lives have gone so badly awry. We place our rescues locally only (within reasonable driving distance of Seattle). We currently have no rescues available. (Updated December 29, 2012.)

CAT PUREBRED RESCUE Some of our rescued cats are adopted out through Seattle Cat Purebred Rescue (CPR), for which we are a foster home; this means that the adoption process follows CPR's guidelines and policies. Before they go to their new homes, all CPR's rescued cats are neutered or spayed, microchipped, and given a full set of updated shots. MERCER ISLAND ORPHANS & WAIFS We have also helped to find homes for cats fostered under the auspices of MEOW (Mercer Island Orphans & Waifs).
